Italian women players will make more money starting from next season
Important news for the Italian Women’s Soccer movement. In fact, the new regulation that will allow female players to increase their overall compensation by getting 12 monthly payments instead of 10 it has been approved.
This is only the first of many changes that will characterize the new Serie A and B leagues now managed and organized by the FIGC (same association that manage professional men’s soccer leagues). This new measure is now bringing the first positive adjustments in the leagues in order to achieve a better competition.
The new federal form provided by the FIGC allows annual or pluriannual agreements between professional players and clubs for a maximum of 3 years. Also, it is now possible for the players to receive extra compensations based on individual or collective achievements that can be paid out at the end of the season.
These are some of the first important new measures taken by the FIGC in order to promote the growth of Italian professional women’s soccer. These new regulations will allow female players to make more money and, consequently, foreign players will be more interested to transfer in Italy. At the end, the goal of these changes is to increase the level of competition and to give to the Italian Women’s Soccer movement the right importance.
