Pedro Ansede: “La Furia Roja” is landing in Florence
After having completed his bachelor degree in Management, with a double minor in Accounting and Marketing, Pedro Ansede joins our program.
Last year he was selected for the All-Conference 1st Team after his dominating performance that saw him break the record for goals scored in one season at La Roche College.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background
I am Pedro Ansede, I am originally from Spain but I spent the last 4 years in the United States at La Roche College. That’s where I got my bachelor degree in Management while playing soccer for the team of the school. I had my best season last year: I broke the historical records of points and goals in a single season at La Roche. My hobbies are anything related to sports, traveling and watching movies.
Why did you choose to attend SMI in Italy?
I think it is a good opportunity for both my academic and soccer career, other than being an overall amazing experience. Attending Soccer Management Institute gives me the chance to get a higher education, show my talent on the field and experience a new culture.
How do you think this experience will impact your soccer and professional career?
Hopefully it will give me the opportunity to play professional in Italy but at least I know that other than developing my soccer abilities I will be able to improve my management and leadership skills. SMI gives me the chance to keep different options open but at the end the goal is to succeed either in soccer or in the business world.
How do you think a master’s degree in Sports Management & Soccer Coaching in Italy is going to help you in your future and in your soccer career?
I believe it helps you building up your sports IQ and also gives you the chance to develop coaching skills. If you play soccer for many years, it is difficult to leave that environment so a coaching career could be something desirable and an opportunity to fulfill that soccer need in your life that is never going to fade away.
If you close your eyes and start dreaming, what do you see?
Myself in a big soccer stadium playing the sport that I love.
How did your family, friends, and teammates react when you told them about you joining our program?
They are really proud of my accomplishments and very supportive. Everyone in my family thought that attending SMI was a lifetime opportunity for me and I could not let it go. Being recruited to play soccer at high level having the chance to make it pro while getting a higher education means everything to me. My family and my friends can’t be happier for my decision and they all will support me throughout my journey in Italy.
